Medeni Transforms Quiet Collapse into Alt-Pop Brilliance with “Overwhelmed”

Medeni’s “Overwhelmed” is one of those alt-pop gems that captures the electric tension right before everything spills over.

Born from the ashes of a destructive relationship, this track channels that raw exhaustion of holding it all together while quietly unraveling inside. At its heart, “Overwhelmed” lingers in that fragile space between insisting you’re fine and finally letting the truth spill out.

What makes Medeni especially compelling is the contrast in her story. Raised in the small-village farming world of West Wales and now based in West London, she has spent much of her life existing between identities, never feeling entirely claimed by either place. That sense of emotional limbo feeds naturally into her songwriting, giving her music a perspective that feels personal, restless, and beautifully specific.

Her voice is pure magic; a husky, low richness that anchors even the quietest moments, while the bigger choruses feel ready to burst open in a packed room. It’s no wonder BBC Radio Wales’ Adam Walton singled out her vocals for their personality and soul.

With Laurence Love Greed on production and mixing, and Natalie Bibby mastering, “Overwhelmed” sets the stage for an EP that dives deep into the aftershocks of controlled love, anxiety, and the journey back to self.

This is music that’s vulnerable, cinematic, and razor-sharp; made for anyone who’s ever kept it together until they just couldn’t anymore.
